Vancouver (Canada) - Vancouver, Canada to Host Icograda Regional Meeting Events Conclude with Two-Day Design Perspectives Seminar.
The British Columbia and Vancouver Island Chapters of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) and the Seattle and Portland Chapters of the American Institute of Graphics Arts (AIGA) today announced that the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda) will hold a North American regional meeting and international design seminar in Vancouver, BC. The regional meeting, which will be held March 13 > 14 (Granville Island Hotel), is designed to support the region s Icograda members and to encourage an open dialogue between participants and the Icograda board on how best to serve graphic design in North America.
Topics during the two-day meeting will cover various geographical aspects of graphic design including how the economic situation in North America affects graphic designers, how new technologies affect graphic design, and the state of graphic design education in North America. Visiting delegates will offer graphic design insight from their respective countries. The meeting will conclude with the development of a regional agenda. Participation to the Regional Meeting is by invitation only.
The Icograda Design Perspectives Seminar, Environs 002, will be held March 15 > 16 (Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design). This seminar brings together seven internationally renowned designers from the US, Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom, Malaysia and Israel. Environs 002 will provide participants the opportunity to view graphic design from diverse perspectives under the theme Design Without Borders.
