REMINDER: CALL FOR PAPERS FOR ICOGRADA DESIGN WEEK IN QATAR 2009

Doha (Qatar) - Only one month remains in the call for papers/presentations for the
Education Conference taking place during . Submissions must be sent by 1 October 2008.
Icograda Design Week in Qatar will bring together practitioners, scholars, and students across design disciplines, cultures, and regions to build bridges, raise awareness, and create bonds necessary to achieve the full potential of design in the Gulf region.
The Mousharaka-Collaboration Education Symposium will investigate the idea of collaboration in the design field. The Symposium intends to create a platform for international design professionals, educators, and students to participate in a discussion on collaboration from a variety of perspectives including collaborative projects, cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural collaborations, and collaborations between individual of groups. Discussion panels between presenters and the audience moderated by an Icograda representative will follow individual presentations.
Presenters will be invited to conduct student workshops concurrently, in our well-appointed design studios, for 2 afternoons totaling 7 hours based on a theme. The work produced will be judged and exhibited. There will be a nominal stipend offered by the organizers for the workshop presenters. Please indicate whether you would be interested in presenting a section of the workshops.
Presenters will be provided with economy airfare and hotel accommodations.
Areas of interest may encompass, but are not limited to, collaboration in:
Papers should be geared towards an audience of educators, students, and practitioners. The paper presentation should be dynamic, incorporating visuals and allowing for interactivity where appropriate. Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which will be distributed at the conference.
Papers will be judged by a blind jury.

1 October 2008 - Submission of abstract of no more than 500 words
15 October 2008 - Notifications
15 November 2008 - Submission of full version of your paper with adequate references to the literature
