Chicago, Illinois (United States) - The First Chicago International Poster Biennial has announced the finalists for the competition. The , open to the public from 15 September - 15 October 2008, will include the poster work of the final designers, listed by country or region, selected from over 1,600 total entries. In September, the Judges will announce the gold medal, two medals of honor, and two special medals for typographic excellence and best poster with a social theme. More designers and posters may be included in the Biennial catalogue, which will also be announced by September.

The exhibition will be held during park hours at the Daley Bicentennial Plaza, part of Grant Park on Chicago's beautiful lakefront. This exhibition, presented in partnership with Project Osmosis and the Chicago Park District, will be unique in being outdoors and open to the public, placing poster art in its natural environment.

Private Opening Event: Friday, September 26.
