'design innovation' organises EDTI Day in Liege

Li?ge (Belgium) - Within the framework of the Design Biennale in Li?ge (Belgium), 'design innovation' organises an EDTI Day on 8 October 2010. The programme includes a series of workshops during which participants will discuss and debate pedagogical approaches to develop skills for design project management and management of design business. These topics will be looked at from both education and lifelong learning perspectives.
'design innovation' will also present for the first time a new online platform dedicated to schools and training centres in various creative industries domains, including design domains. From the outside, this platform will look like an effective and attractive online portfolio dedicated to students. From the inside, this platform is an online pedagogical tool that will help teachers and trainers develop project management and communication skills of their students. It will also foster teachers and educational institutions confidentially evaluate the relevance and efficiency of their teaching, from an employability perspective.

By benchmarking design education and training in the context of the lifelong learning, the core idea behind EDTI is to develop an international network and platform through which design-related organisations can audit existing training provision, identify needs and share and coordinate training development and its implementation.
Under the coordination of 'design innovation', the 6 founding partners were chosen because of their specific expertise in the field, they are 'design innovation', (Belgium), designkunst (Germany), Business Support Center for SMEs - Ruse (Bulgaria), Cirtes (France), Estonian Design Centre (Estonia), Gray's School of Art, the Robert Gordon University (United Kingdom).

About 'design innovation'
'design innovation' is a skill centre dedicated to design based in Wallonia, the French speaking part of Belgium. Its main activities include training, benchmarking design careers, dissemination of information about design careers, and the development of design-related training.
