A PROPOSAL FOR DESIGNERS COMMITED TO SOLIDARITY WITH OTHERS
06.06.2001 News
Brussels (Belgium) - As a creative designer with a great deal of initiative you have probably developed a design for social use or have thought of doing so but have not found a way to produce it, either because you are in touch with the potential beneficiaries, or because your proposal does not have any commercial interest for potential producers.
On the other hand, you might simply be interested in co-operating with humanitarian organisations or communities by offering your skills to solve problems through design and you do not know how to channel those intentions to make a real contribution and, therefore, your skills and growth aspirations are restricted to the demands of the conventional market forces.
IF YOU WANT TO CHANNEL YOUR ENTHUSIASM
DW offers you the opportunity to release your projects and channel your desire to co-operate by becoming a volunteer worker at DW, which will receive requests
for projects from humanitarian organisations or communities, or by including your projects in DW s project bank on the Internet. That way, your design solutions will be available to anyone who might be interested in them.
All you have to do is get in touch with Design For the World:
