22.02.2009 News
Providence (United States) - The (RISD), an Icograda Education Member, has announced the 2009 programme for the upcoming Summer Institute for Graphic Design Studies (SIGDS) courses. This is an unparalleled opportunity for students and professionals from numerous disciplines to participate in an extensive array of concentrated two-week credit-bearing courses for undergraduate and graduate students and short, intensive, non-credit workshops.
Hosted by RISD every summer, the courses bring together graphic design students and professionals from all over the world for a thorough immersion in everything from handmade books to branding and identity design. Instruction is provided by professors of RISD's Graphic Design Department, as well as visiting international graphic design professionals.
The SIGDS curriculum is especially attentive to addressing the monumental changes that have occurred as a result of the globalisation of visual communications. Seven 3-credit courses and two non-credit advanced design theory workshops challenge participants to improve the way we communicate visually. The modular schedule allows SIGDS enrollees to choose a single topic or as many as three different offerings.
