MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH ' IDEAS THAT MATTER'
24.02.2004 News
Brussels (Belgium) - 'Ideas that Matter' is a programme by Sappi that provides funding to support creative design for social good. Designers are invited to submit proposals for a print campaign that benefits a non-profit organisation involved in scientific, environmental, educational, cultural or relief programmes for social change. Sappi is ready to award financial grants of up to EUR 50,000 to pay out-of-pocket expenses and the full implementation of the selected projects. With 'Ideas that Matter' you have the potential to change lives, communities, and our world.
Sappi welcomes submissions from individual designers, design firms, agencies, in-house design departments within a company, design teachers and individual students or student groups. The campaigns must exploit the effectiveness of ideas on paper, maximising the potential of posters, direct mail, brochures or print advertising - or something new. The applications will be evaluated based on creativity of the concept and design, the practicality and potential effectiveness of the campaign and the credentials of the non-profit organisation. Grants will be awarded in August 2004 and concepts can be implemented within six months upon receiving the award. The grant application deadline is 31 May 2004.
Sappi is the world's leading producer of coated fine paper used in the production of high quality print. Sappi has a long tradition of supporting graphic designers who share a belief in the power of ideas on paper and its official partnership with Icograda worldwide confirms this commitment. Now for the fourth year, Sappi is once again ready to provide USD $1 million to support the causes that are important to the international design community.
