ICOGRADA ENDORSES GRAPHEX '08: THE BEST OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION IN CANADA
23.06.2007 News
Montreal (Canada) - Since 1977, excellence in Canadian communication
design has been celebrated at Graphex. This biennial competition
showcases the best of cultural, social and business communications - in
all mediums. As part of the GDC's mandate to create an ongoing archive
of Canadian design, Graphex'08 is a national event , - open to all
designers across Canada. A travelling exhibit will be launched in May
2008 to showcase the winning work across Canada.
Graphex thrives on learning from and rewarding those designers who are addressing increasingly complex and diverse creative challenges through smart alliances. It is these partnerships with other media experts that yield communication materials for our clients that are appropriate, effective, thought-provoking, and above all, worthy of being recognised.
The Graphex '06 theme was "Searching for the Canadian in Design" with a look of Canadian flora and insect fauna, and a mosquito as a mascot, the main theme raised the question about Canadian design. The theme for Graphex'08 will be announced in the coming months and will be an inspirational celebration of the unique aspects of the design profession in Canada.
Discovering new and emerging talent
Every two years Graphex invites passionate communication designers, web designers, typographers, photographers, illustrators, art directors, ad agencies, printers, writers and clients from across Canada to submit their very best published work.
All Canadians are eligible to enter, with discounts given to professional members of design associations such as GDC, RGD and SGDQ. All submissions must be accompanied by an explanation of the design criteria stating the challenges or requirements of the project and the rationale for the design solution to be eligible.
