FACE TO FACE 04: GRAPHIC DESIGN FROM ITALY AND GERMANY

Brussels (Belgium) - The Design Centre Stuttgart at the Baden-Wurttemberg Office for the Promotion of Trade and Industry will stage its successful 'Face to Face' conference on 19-20 March 2004, in partnership with Italian designers.
This international event is being held for the fourth year in a row and it is on its way to becoming one of Europe's foremost conferences on visual communication. Previous partner countries were the UK in 2001, the Netherlands in 2002 and Spain in 2003. This year, the conference will be co-hosted by the Italian designers' association, the Associazione Italiana Progettazione per la Comunicazione Visiva (AIAP), together with the federation of German Graphic Designers (BDG) and the Alliance of German Designers (AGD). 'Face to Face' is also being supported by the Italian Consulate-General, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Baden-Wurttemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The conference is 'Face to Face' in a dual sense: clients and their design associates from the two countries jointly present their projects, which include package design, signposting systems, electronic media, and designs for lifestyle and entertainment. It is aimed at visual communicators and professional designers from all disciplines.
Exhibitions such as 'Italic 1.0' and 'Concept Room,' will show current and experimental graphic design from Italy. German partners offer events such as the BFF junior photographer competition, the BDG:KampagnenWettbewerb competition, and the 'Die Kuh von oben' exhibition by the Hamburg-based Factor Design.
