Young Package 2011 call for entries announced

Prague (Czech Republic) - The sixteenth year of the international competition aimed at young designers from all over the world has just been announced. Once again, Young Package introduces two additional themes.
The 2011 edition of Young Package maintains the two categories introduced in the fifteenth year of the competition. The first category, Product package, targets product designers and package constructors. In this category competitors will be asked to package their national product. The second category, Different View, aims to attract attention of graphic designers and illustrators. The theme of this inspirational category has become 'Book as a package for words'. Entries must be entered by 15 March 2011. All competitors must register online. After receiving a special identification code they will be able to send their entries to the address of the competition organiser.
This year's jury chairman will be the well-known Czech package designer, Jan Èinèera. The full jury will be announced by January 2011. Last year, the designer, architect and professor of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Ji?? Pelcl, and the Austrian product designer Thomas Feichtner, were among the members of the jury.
Increased prizes are an attractive innovation this year. The winner of each category will receive EUR 1000. Event partners have prepared many awards to be given to the other competitors. A special prize by Slovak Design Center will also be given.
The competition results will be announced in May 2011.
