10.09.2008 News
Mumbai (India) - From 25-26 September 2008, Design Conclave 2008 will take place in Mumbai, India. The Design Conclave 2008 is a two day conference, which will create a platform to connect, engage and involve people who provide design, people who commission design and people who use design.
Organised by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry), this is the first industry-led initiative since the creation of a new design policy in India. The Conclave will create an opportunity for stakeholders from all design and business sectors to engage in a dialogue with competent authorities and decision makers to move further in creating and implementing sustained and integrated plan for design and innovation.
The Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay is the Principal Supporting Partner for the event. IDC is a member of the Icograda Education Network (IEN) and organised Icograda's Design Week in India held in February 2007. Prof. Ravi Poovaih, senior faculty member at IDC, is one of the featured speakeres.
The Indian Design Industry Survey is a key component of the FICCI event. The information collected will be a new tool for mapping the design industry in India.
