THOMAS LOCKWOOD APPOINTED AS NEW PRESIDENT OF THE DESIGN MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (DMI)
09.02.2006 News
"I see a
tremendous opportunity for DMI to grow internationally as design
management is being recognized more and more as the critical discipline
that bridges the gap between design and business," said Lockwood. "I am
thrilled at the opportunity to support individuals and organizations
worldwide in better understanding the effective management of design
for economic growth."
The appointment of Lockwood caps a very
successful 2005 for DMI as membership, conference attendance, and
professional development attendance all grew. DMI is off to a strong
start in 2006 and will focus this year on the "business of design
management". DMI's 10th European International Design Management
Conference, this year in Amsterdam on March 29-31, will examine "Design
Leadership" and is, once again, rapidly filling up; and the 18th
International Brand Design conference, this year in Montreal on May
17-19, will explore "Brand + Design + Experience". Both conferences
have a tremendous portfolio of speakers.
DMI will also focus
this year on further developing research, thought leadership, and
member value in the area of design management.
