Beijing (China) - Two additional keynotes speakers have been announced for . Joining Sol Sender (United States) at the International Conference will be Jan van Toorn (the Netherlands) and Patrick Whitney (United States).

Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Jan van Toorn is both a designer and educator who has been working within the profession since the 1950s. He studied Graphic Design at the Amsterdam School of Printing, the Department of architecture of Technical university Eindhoven and the Institute of Arts and Crafts (now the Gerrit Rietveld Academie), Amsterdam.

His teaching experience spans The Netherlands and abroad, including the Royal Academy for Art and Design, the Department of architecture of Technical university Eindhoven and the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. Since 1987 has been Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Rhode Island School of Design (United States). His emotional and somewhat controversial design approach often demonstrates how design can be a strong tool for social commentary and critical practice, which is significantly influential on younger generations.

A Canadian native, Patrick Whitney writes and lectures on making technological innovations more humane and on the link between design and business strategy. In his writing, he looks at new frameworks of design that respond to two transformations: the shift from mass-production to flexible production and the shift from national markets to markets that are both global and "markets of one."

He has been on the jury of numerous award programs, including the U.S. Presidential Design Awards, was a member of the White House Council on Design and was chairman of the program of Icograda World Design Congress 1978 in Chicago, United States. Currently, Whitney is the Dean of the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology and is the Steelcase/Robert C. Pew Professor of Design.
