INDEX: AWARD SHORTLISTS 112 DESIGNS

Copenhagen (Denmark) - The international INDEX: jury has short listed 112 designs for INDEX: AWARD, the biggest design award in the world, which is presented in August under the patronage of HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark.
The 112 top nominated designs represent all seven continents. In the spirit of the INDEX: theme "Design to Improve Life", they address such diverse problems as water shortage, CO2 emissions, health, environmental sustainability as well as health and safety at work.
Form, Context and Impact
Other design awards focus exclusively on form, but the INDEX: jury also looks at the design's context from ethical and cultural points of view and at the design's impact on society, including the sustainability of the design and the number of people who will benefit from it.
Winning Designers Announced on 24 August
The winners of INDEX: AWARD will be announced on 24 August, and HRH the Crown Prince of Denmark, several Danish Ministers, leading design and innovation experts as well as the majority of the top nominated designers will be present in Copenhagen. The events of the day include:
- The international opening of the outdoor INDEX: AWARD EXHIBITION on Kgs.
Nytorv square in Copenhagen, where all top nominated designs are on display.
- The INDEX: AWARD ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall
- Official Design Dinners in private Danish Homes
Summit on User-centered Design & Innovation 25 August
On 25 August, leading experts on user-centered design and innovation, the INDEX: jury and top nominated designers will participate in INDEX: SUMMIT and discuss User-centered Design & Innovation within both public and private sectors, on the basis of new cases and their own vast knowledge of the area.
