ICOGRADA ENDORSES 7TH INTERNATIONAL POSTER BIENNIAL OF MEXICO

Brussels (Belgium) - The 7th International Poster Biennial of Mexico has received Icograda's endorsement.* Organised by Trama Visual, the event will open in Mexico City in October 2002 and run until January 2003. The theme is 'Rights of Nature' and aims to raise international awareness about the need to protect and preserve our planet. The event will exhibit poster designs and showcase Mexico's contributions to the field of graphic design and will act as a meeting ground for design professionals from around the world. The 50 best posters will form part of a collection entitled 'Nature's Rights Treatise.'
The Biennial presents poster designs and the most significant graphic design works created worldwide between May 2000 and May 2002. The competition is open to professionals and students in the fields of graphic design, graphic arts, plastic arts and photography. Participants of all ages and nationalities may enter as individuals or on a group basis. The submission deadline is 30 May 2002. Design books will be accepted in lieu of an entry fee. These books will become part of the Trama Visual, A. C. library.
Posters may be submitted under the following categories:
A. Street posters: advertising, cultural or social/political posters
displayed on streets and in public spaces.
B. Small edition posters: published by the author or specifically produced for contests or special events.
C. Computer designed posters: containing images and typography fully produced by computer.
D. Unpublished posters: specifically on the subject 'Rights of Nature.'
