EYES ON CHINA: COMMEMORATIVE EXHIBITION

Nanjing (China) - In wake of the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Sichuan, China, in May of 2008, killing almost 70,000 people and leaving 4.8 million people homeless, the design community has responded with the "Bless China - Commemoration of 5.12 Massive Earthquake in Sichuan" Exhibition. Within one month after the disaster, the organisers, Jiangsu Advertising Association and the New Graphic Magazine, received over 200 works by designers from over 30 countries and districts. The submissions include posters, T-shirts, music, movies, equipments, sculptures, animations, and more.
The number and quality of the works received is far beyond what was anticipated. Most of the works demonstrate a care for humanity, and hopeful expectations for the future. The designers and artists have made their voices heard with their excellent visual works, showing their view rational towards of the value of life. The designs advocate humanitarian spirit, try to encourage people in the affected areas and make more people on a global scale pay attention to them those who have suffered.
