AIGA XCD ORGANISES DESIGN EXPEDITION IN CHINA

New York (United States) - With planning for well under way, a number of Icograda Members are now planning extended group excursions to China.
AIGA's Center for Cross-Cultural Design (AIGA|XCD), in partnership with International Design Media Network (IDMN) participant of China, is organising a design expedition to China this fall.
From 17-31 October participants will travel into the heart of China's flourishing design scene to experience the country's exuberance and witness its transformation from being the world's manufacturer to becoming an economy where its creative spirit will drive the development of its own global brands. Tour participants will visit Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou and will arrive in Beijing in time for Xin: Icograda World Design Congress 2009 Beijing.
Package and Design Magazine will publish a profile and design samples of each tour participant in a feature article. In order to be included in this article, participants' registration and down payment must be received by 20 July 2009. The magazine will announce the group's arrival as this issue will be on the shelves in China in October 2009.
The cost of the tour does not include registration for Xin: Icograda World Design Congress 2009 Beijing. However, AIGA|XCD has negotiated a special group rate with the organisers, eligible only to travelers whose deposits clear by 20 July 2009.
The tour is open to AIGA members and non-members alike.
