30 March deadline: BIO 23 Call for Entries

Ljubljana (Slovenia) – Designers, commissioners, producers, students and design organisations, from anywhere in the world, have until 30 March to submit products, concepts and projects, from any area of design, that have been created in the past two years, to 23rd Biennial of Design.
??The curators of BIO 23 - Margo Konings and Margriet Vollenberg of Organisation in Design - have chosen the theme “Design Relations” for BIO 23 and will select the works to be exhibited from the submissions received in response to the Call for Entries.
??The BIO 23 exhibition will be held from 27 September to 11 November 2012 at the Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The exhibition will highlight fresh ideas and explore how design relates to the social, the sustainable, and the cultural, while displaying crossovers between culture and commerce, crafts and industry. ??
A jury comprising design experts Giulio Cappellini (Italy), Sven Jonke (Austria), Sophie Lovell (United Kingdom), Jimmy MacDonald (Ireland) and Vasa J. Peroviã (Serbia), will present awards to the best of the exhibited design works. The BIO Gold Medal, BIO Honourable Mentions, the BIO Green Award and the Award for a Student Work will be presented at the opening ceremony of the Biennial on 27 September. The winner of the BIO Gold Medal will receive a monetary prize in the amount of EUR 5000.

?About the curators
?Margo Konings and Margriet Vollenberg are the founders of the studio Organisation in Design. They are known for the projects as Ventura Lambrate and Ventura Berlin at Qubique. Their studio is specialised in organisation of all aspects of design for designers, design studios and other design related companies, among others, Atelier Ted Noten, Maarten Baas, Kiki van Eijk, Studio Makkink & Bay in Joost van Bleiswijk.??Key dates?
