joseph binder award 2024
From 02.09.2024 to 31.10.2024 Call for submissions
AustriaICoD is pleased to announce the Member Event, Joseph Binder Award 2024 organised by Design Austria. The call for submissions is open from 02 September to 18 November 2024.
ABOUT
The Joseph Binder Award is an international competition in the disciplines of graphic design & illustration held every two years by designaustria, Austrian interest association and knowledge center. The competition is named after one of the major graphic designers and illustrators active in Austria between the two World Wars, who subsequently also revolutionized visual communication in the United States.
The Joseph Binder Award aims at recognising and defining current benchmarks, highlighting leading social, cultural, and economic markers, encouraging the improvement of standards in graphic design, and raising the general awareness of superior design quality. It is meant to honour the merit of existing work that exhibits design excellence.
In 2022, the international jury of experts assessed a record number of 908 submissions from 32 countries. 12 gold, 14 silver, and 10 bronze trophies, as well as 5 special prizes in the Design Fiction category and as many as 15 distinctions were assigned to projects from Austria. The exhibition and the catalogue “JBA24 – LET’S CELEBRATE THE CREATIVE PROCESS” document the Joseph Binder Award 2022 competition and present the prize-winning and shortlisted projects.
